Craftool® Round Grounder Background Stamp

The textured surface it leaves around the carved design is exactly the matted look I wanted, and the stamp feels solid and heavy in my hand. It took me a few practice impressions to get the pressure right, but once I did, the background filled in cleanly without slipping.

I was a little worried about how deep the impression would go, but using a firm, even strike with the mallet left a crisp, uniform background that really makes my floral carving stand out.

The stamped background texture came out consistently even across my entire floral panel, which saved me so much time reworking spots. It took a few firm mallet strikes to get a deep enough impression, but the result is perfectly uniform.
