Craftool® Scratch Awl

This awl’s 2-1/2 inch steel tip is really sharp right out of the box, making it easy to transfer patterns onto thick leather without slipping. I used it to mark stitch lines for a wallet project and the holes were clean and precise.

I’ve been using this awl for pattern transfer on thick leather, and the 2-1/2" steel point stays sharp session after session. The balance feels right in hand, which makes long marking sessions less tiring.

The steel point glides through veg-tan like butter, and the grip feels solid even after a few hours of marking stitch lines. I’ve used it to transfer a floral pattern onto a wallet panel and the lines stayed crisp the whole way.
