The thickness is consistent across the whole belly, which made cutting out my project pieces easy. The veg-tan takes a good crease and burnishes nicely at the edges. I'm pleased with this leather for the price, especially for practice projects.

I needed a piece for a small wallet and this belly was just the right size at about 4 square feet. The 3.5-4.5 oz weight is perfect for tooling and dyeing, and the veg-tan surface took the stain evenly.

The bottom of my latest project came out surprisingly clean for a belly cut, and the 3.5 to 4.5 oz weight is perfect for folding without getting bulky. It skived like a dream, and the bright veg-tan finish has a nice, even glow once I burnished the edges.
