The leather pieces have a nice, hefty feel, and I loved that the kit came with the option to dye or paint them myself. Kept my 10-year-old busy for a whole afternoon.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed customizing this kit—the leather is thick enough to hold detailed tooling, but still easy to cut with basic craft scissors. My daughter and I spent a whole afternoon staining and painting ours, and the final puzzle came out looking like a real keepsak

I’ve been staining the leather pieces with the included dye, and the way the color takes to the grain is really satisfying. Putting the puzzle together after finishing adds a nice sense of accomplishment.
