Peau de chèvre vieillie

I needed a leather that would mold easily for a wallet project, and this 2-3 oz goatskin did exactly that with a soft, consistent temper. The chrome tanning gave it a smooth finish that took stitching holes cleanly, and the 6-8 sq. ft. size was plenty for multiple panels.

The goatskin has a nice drape and worked perfectly for a small pouch project. I was pleasantly surprised by the generous 6 square feet, which left plenty of room for mistakes. The 1mm thickness feels substantial without being too stiff.

This hide came in at a solid 2.5 ounces with a nice, even temper across the whole piece, and the chrome tanning left it surprisingly pliable right out of the mailer. I got about 7 square feet out of it, which was perfect for the two small pouches I cut without any wasted scraps.
