Took a chance on the 8-10 oz. double butt and the 20 to 22 sq ft size is generous for the price, carving cleanly with a nice firm temper. Grain is tight enough for tooling, though there's a few belly spots I'll work around. Solid buy for projects where you don't need perfection.
