Finally got this shoulder in the 5-6 oz weight and it's perfect for tooling holsters—cuts cleanly and holds detail well. The croc texture adds nice grip without being too stiff to work with.

The croc embossing on this veg-tan hide is beautifully defined, giving the leather some real character. I needed a double shoulder for a tooled belt project, and the 2-3 oz side was perfectly consistent in thickness. The temper is nice and firm right out of the package.

The 5-6 oz side had a really tight, deep croc texture that takes dye perfectly. I cut a belt and a couple of tooled pouches from one hide and got almost no waste. This is the best veg-tan shoulder I've worked with in years.
