Maverick Épaule Simple

The drum dyeing gives this leather a really rich, even color that I wasn’t expecting from a pull-up hide. I’m using it for a bag project and the soft hand makes it easy to stitch and shape. Definitely ordering more for future builds.

I’ve been working with this leather for a few bag projects, and the light pull-up effect gives each piece a really natural, lived-in look right from the start. It’s soft enough to mold easily but still has a sturdy feel for briefcase panels.

The pull-up effect is exactly what I hoped for—run your thumb across it and the color shifts, then settles back. It cuts cleanly for straps and the soft hand means I don’t have to fight it when skiving edges. My first wallet’s nearly done and this hide’s already earned a spot in the rotation.
