This hide’s consistent 3-5 oz thickness made cutting and dyeing edges a breeze for my project. It’s surprisingly pliable for a chrome tan black, and the 21 sq. ft. piece gave me plenty of room to work with.

The leather has a nice, uniform finish and the 3–5 oz thickness feels sturdy without being too heavy for a travel case. I was pleasantly surprised by how well it holds its shape once cut and worked. Exactly the quality I was hoping for in a black chrome-tan hide.

Got this for a bag project and the 3–5 oz. weight is perfect—sturdy enough to hold shape but still easy to stitch by hand. The black color is deep and even across the whole hide, and it cut cleanly without fraying.
