The color is a rich brass that photographs beautifully, and the 13-square-foot piece gives me plenty of room for larger projects. It cuts cleanly, though it’s a bit stiff at 4-5 oz—I’m hoping it softens up as I work it.

At 4-5 oz this brass leather is sturdy enough for belts but still flexible for tooling. The 13 sq ft piece gave me plenty of material for a project without awkward seams.

The chrome tanning gives this hide a soft, supple feel right out of the bag, and at 4-5 oz it's perfect for tooling belts without being too stiff. My last two projects both cut clean and held their edges well, and the brass color adds a nice warm tone that darkens beautifully with oil.
