The leather is surprisingly soft right out of the package, perfect for a small bag I'm making. The 3 to 4.5 oz weight feels substantial without being too stiff, and the brown color is rich and even.

The 3-4.5 oz. weight is perfect for bag straps and small projects, stiff enough to hold shape but already pretty pliable out of the box. Color is even all the way through and the surface feels smooth, not waxy like some cheaper hides. Only gripe is a couple of light scratches near one edge, but they
