I was a little intimidated by the idea of finishing my own belt, but the full-grain cowhide trimmed cleanly with a sharp knife. The stingray pattern looks incredibly realistic after a simple layer of dye.

The embossing is incredibly deep and consistent across the full length, so the texture looks just like real stingray. Took maybe ten minutes to cut and punch my own holes, and the raw leather edge burnishes nicely.

I cut mine to fit my exact waist and the full-grain leather took the dye beautifully—almost no prep needed. The deep embossing really does run the entire length, which makes it look way more expensive than it was.
