Cut through a stack of 10-ounce leather in one clean swing, and the slot edges came out razor sharp with zero tearing. The hand sharpened polish is obvious the second you pull it from the box.

The S45C carbon steel feels dense and well-balanced in hand, not flimsy like cheaper punches I’ve used. It punched through a thick leather strap cleanly on the first strike, and the polished surface wiped down easily.
