The chrome tanning gives it just the right amount of give while still holding its shape, and the black is deep and even across the whole hide. Mine came in right around 4 square feet, which was perfect for the small bag I was making.

I was pleasantly surprised by how soft this black leather is right out of the box, and the 1.2 mm thickness feels substantial without being stiff. The chrome tan finish gives it a nice, even color throughout, and the 5 sq. ft. sheet was enough for my small handbag project with some leftover.

The 1-2 oz weight makes this leather perfect for small accessories, and the black color is rich and even throughout. I cut a few test pieces and the chrome tan finish held up without any fraying or discoloration. Exactly what I needed for a card holder project.
