I stained the wood before stamping my own pattern into the leather strap, and the whole kit felt really well-designed for that. The optional paint and dye gave me exactly the finish I was hoping for.

The download instructions were super clear, so even as a beginner I got the tooling to look decent. I’m excited to try painting it next weekend. The leather is nice and thick—took the dye evenly without bleeding. Exactly what I wanted for a custom gift.

I was a little nervous about tooling my first design, but the leather was surprisingly easy to work with and took the dye beautifully. The included pattern download made the whole process straightforward and fun.
