The surface took dye surprisingly well, even over a couple of the lighter spots. Perfect for a rugged tool belt where a few character marks don’t matter.

Got these for a carving project and the veg-tan surface takes tooling beautifully. Sure there’s a few discolored spots, but at this price I’d rather sort those out myself than pay triple elsewhere. The dye I applied soaked in evenly enough that the imperfections just look like character.

For the price, you can't beat these shoulders — the leather takes dye beautifully and the imperfections are mostly just character. I oiled mine down and they softened up nicely for my projects, and even with a few holes, I got plenty of usable hide out of them.
