The 4-5 oz thickness is perfect for a belt I was making—sturdy enough to hold shape but still easy to cut and punch. The brown shade is rich and even across the whole hide, no weird light spots. Really happy with how my project turned out.

The 4-5 oz weight feels substantial without being too stiff to work with. I used this brown side for a belt and the chrome tan took the edge finish beautifully.

The chrome tanning gives this leather an incredibly soft, almost buttery feel right out of the box, despite being a solid 4-5 oz weight. I've got enough square footage here for a couple of small utility projects, which is perfect. This brown color is rich and even, exactly what I was hoping for.
