I was pleasantly surprised how evenly it took the mahogany stain I applied—the veg-tan surface soaked it up without splotching. It trimmed to exactly the right length with a sharp blade and made the edge of my bag look custom.

This cowhide strip cut cleanly without fraying, which made my dye job much simpler than I expected. The leather feels substantial enough for bag handles but still flexible for curved piping.
