This chrome tan leather is remarkably consistent across the hide, and the 3-4 oz thickness gives it just enough body for sturdy bags without being a pain to stitch. I've already cut out two panels and the surface is clean with no weak spots to work around.

The 3-4 oz weight is perfect for tooling — thin enough to fold easily, thick enough to hold a stamp. Cut out two belts and a wallet from a single hide, and the chrome tan keeps it supple without any extra conditioning. Exactly the workhorse leather I needed.

This is my third time buying this chrome tan leather and the 3-4 oz weight hits that perfect balance between structure and flexibility. The hide I got measured just over 22 square feet, which was plenty for a couple of small bags and a wallet.
