The aniline-dyed finish really lives up to the distressed look—it's got that worn-in character right out of the box, and the color depth shifts subtly depending on the light. Cut into a cover for my couch and the whole hide was surprisingly even, no thin spots to worry about.

The lightly buffed surface gives this leather a wonderfully subtle texture that catches light differently depending on the angle. I'm using a piece for a custom bag project, and it's already developing that unique distressed look the description promised.
