The grain on this hide is exactly what I was hoping for—pronounced and full of character, but the oil-tanned finish makes it feel substantial without being stiff. Cut a few straps this weekend and it held up to some serious pulling without stretching out of shape.

I've been abusing this leather on a couple of projects, and it's held up to everything I've thrown at it. The oil-tanned finish really does live up to the "tough" claim, but it still has that beautiful grain for the look. It's a solid balance between ruggedness and character.
