I was pleasantly surprised by how well this chrome-tanned suede handled my first attempt at making chaps—the occasional small holes and brands actually add character. The hide cuts cleanly and feels more durable than I expected for the price point.

This suede is soft yet sturdy enough for the chaps I'm making, and the occasional brands add a nice rustic look. It cuts cleanly and the chrome tanning leaves it flexible without being flimsy.

I needed a hide for a new bag project and the chrome tanning made it easy to work with right out of the package, without any extra conditioning. The occasional brand marks actually give it some character for a rustic look.
